Cornet Henry Richardson's ordeal at the Battle of Dettingen
I hope everyone is having a good summer...And more productive than I am at the workbench!
Here's new pics of the Dettingen vignette. It's a close copy of the painting with a few adjustments. It's a challenge for me trying to compose figures based on illustrations or paintings because perspective can be thrown off and not fit right.
As of now the figures are primed and painting underway. Stay tuned.

Battle of Dettingen Vignette
It's been a very unproductive summer... Well, compared with others. Not much motivation to stay at the workbench. Really starting to feel burn out. Not so much for the hobby overall, but perhaps what type of modeling. Original work has taken a huge bite out of my enthusiasm for creating. It's not for lack of subjects, I'm still very inspired. However, sitting at the sculpting workbench is becoming a grind, and sometimes I even dread it. Hopefully, I get out of this slump soon and find that "high" again.
This vignette, that I'm slowly picking at, depicts Cornet Henry Richardson of Ligonier's Horse (7th Dragoon Guards), protecting the colors as he fights off elite French cavalry during the 1743 battle of Dettingen.

French Hussar, Marine Foreign Volunteers, 1781
I'll be posting a few new American Revolutionary War subjects quickly in the next few weeks. MFCA is just around the corner and I have lots of posting to catch up on. First up is a French Hussar from their service during the Yorktown campaign. Just a gorgeous uniform. The medium/light blue jacket and yellow breeches really make this figure pop. I utilized a lot Historex pieces for this project and in doing, I had to alter the scale of my armature. So he's a tad larger than the usual 54mm. Painted all in acrylics.
