The Allies were really put on the back-foot in this battle. Their left flank took some deadly volleys and rolled poorly in the break test phase, despite the French taking forever to deploy effectively.
The center was the big challenge. The AI system I was using could've allowed me to deploy an English unit into the open wood to their left. That was mistake on my part. I should remember that an AI system, any system, can't do it all and make every decision.
The same situation was troubling the cavalry. Some failed Allied activations gave the French time to rally off some morale hits. All they had to do was sit and wait. Once the Allied cavalry passed their activation, it was a do or die opportunity. It wasn't going well on the left or center, they had to make a breakthrough somewhere. Well, it was a tough fight, but not enough to get a foothold or break their opponent.
I pretty much called the game there. It was fun. I just need to remember next time to be more flexible and imaginative when using AI systems.
PICS NOT IN ORDER
