Lincoln Bust
Lincoln is for the most part finished. What a wonderful sculpture, but a pain in the ass to paint. The detail on his features can be so subtle, that I was constantly finding something new to paint, even when I swore I just hightlighted/shaded that area! I think putting him aside for a bit, will give me a new perspective for the final touches later.
The figure, by the way, is painted all in acrylics...Practically all the black and white colors in my collection, from cool to warm, are being used on him.

Shades of gray. Nice.
Awesome job Jason. The only thing, and this might be seen as nit-picky is the stark transition from facial hair to skin/face. It would be cool to replicate a well known black and white photo. Though unrelated I remember my late high school art teacher saying that you know an artist has mastered the use of color when his/ her color work reproduced well in black and white.
Thanks Scott and Gary! Gary, your right about the transition, I need to go back and do that. I think that will help the face 'pop' a bit more.
I appreciate the observation.
